My Seiko automatic had been sitting in a drawer for about three years after it stopped. Brought it here after a friend suggested Zephyrgear, and they were very clear about what it needed before touching anything. Movement Care was recommended and the watch came back running consistently — it's been on my wrist every day since. The printed summary they gave me was a nice touch.

Drove from Udon to drop off my father's old Omega — it's been in the family since the 1970s and had not run for years. The assessment was thorough and they explained the work clearly before starting. The restoration took about six weeks, which they told me up front. Small delay getting one part, but they kept me informed. Collected it last month and it's running well.

Came in for a straightforward battery change on my everyday watch. Quick, no fuss, and they noticed the crown stem was a little loose while they had it open — asked if I wanted it looked at before putting everything back. That kind of attention for a ฿3,700 service is not what I was expecting. Very happy.

I have had two watches serviced here now — a Citizen hand-wind and a more modern automatic. Both times the process was the same: clear intake, written assessment, and a fair price agreed before anything started. The workshop is small but clearly focused. I appreciate that they don't try to upsell you into work you don't need.

Good work done on my grandfather's watch — a 1960s hand-wind that had been passed on to me not running. The watchmaker was honest about what the movement needed and quoted a realistic cost. The only thing I'd note is that the turnaround was a little longer than I expected for the parts sourcing, though I was told this upfront. Would return.

Battery change and a strap replacement — simple job that was done the same day I dropped it off. The new strap fits well and I was shown how to adjust the clasp before I left. Nothing complicated but the kind of service that you're glad exists in Khon Kaen rather than having to send the watch to Bangkok.

Case Studies

Three watches, three different paths

Challenge

A daily-wear quartz watch had stopped and the owner assumed it needed a battery. The movement had a small crack in the plastic battery contact, meaning new batteries would fail to maintain contact after a week.

Approach

During the Simple Service intake assessment, the contact fault was identified. A replacement was sourced locally within one day and fitted alongside the new battery. Total time: two days.

Outcome

Watch returned to full function at the quoted Simple Service price. No additional charge for the diagnosis. Owner was kept on the original timeline.

"I had replaced the battery twice myself and couldn't understand why it kept dying. Turns out it was never about the battery." — Khon Kaen client

Challenge

A 1980s Swiss automatic worn intermittently was gaining nearly three minutes per day. Power reserve had also dropped to under twelve hours from its original forty-plus.

Approach

Full Movement Care service. Disassembly revealed dried lubricant throughout the train and a mainspring that had lost elasticity. Both were addressed; timing regulated across five positions post-service.

Outcome

Watch returned gaining under ten seconds per day, power reserve restored to approximately forty-four hours. Service summary provided with timing data. Duration: eleven days.

"The timing results they included were better than I'd hoped. It's now my everyday watch again." — Udon Thani client

Challenge

A 1960s pocket watch inherited from a client's grandparent. Non-running, dial with some age-appropriate patina the owner wanted preserved. No service history known.

Approach

Complete Restoration. Full disassembly, cleaning, worn jewel replaced, new mainspring fitted. Case cleaned but not polished — original surface left intact per owner's instruction. Duration: five weeks including parts sourcing.

Outcome

Pocket watch returned running steadily, gaining under twenty seconds per day — acceptable for its age and movement type. Dial patina untouched. Detailed condition report provided.

"My grandmother wore this. It was important to us that it came back looking exactly as it had been — just running." — Khon Kaen client
